With Fabricio Masutti
When it comes to video works, especially online broadcasts, sound is often overlooked. And it is precisely on the improvement of the sound language that this intensive course focuses.
In the sessions, musician Fabricio Masutti presents a theoretical overview of the fundamentals of digital audio, talks about recording devices and discusses creation, editing and post-production resources for sound and music. Also, he proposes practical exercises on sound design and engineering.
The idea is to give participants the tools to work on the audio of videos and also scenic shows adapted for the screen. “When artists need to migrate, the streaming platforms themselves are often not prepared for the sound that is broadcast,” says Masutti, who started to give consultancy to colleagues in this period of social distancing. “I noticed their need to understand the media and the tools at their disposal.”
Fabricio Masutti is a musician, visual artist and educator. Graduated in Music at UFSCar (University of São Carlos), he also studied electric bass at the Conservatory of Tatuí. He has been working with music production since 2008 and, for the last eight years, has been developing research work in sound, electronic and interactive devices, seeking dialogues between the fields of visual arts, music, electronics and new media.
